What you can do with the source, the specs, and the site. Voluntary by design. Forkable by right.
The short version
Code is Apache-2.0. Content is CC BY 4.0. Participation is voluntary. Specs are v0.1 drafts. Nothing here carries a warranty. You always have the right to fork.
What you can do with the site
The site, the source code behind it, and the specifications it describes are public. You may read, quote, link to, archive, and discuss any of it without asking permission. You may run the site on your own infrastructure, modify it, or build something better. That is the point.
Licensing
Source code in the public repository is licensed under Apache License 2.0 unless a specific file states otherwise. Written content — the manifesto, constitution, specs, and other prose — is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0.
You retain attribution. You may fork, adapt, translate, and republish, including for commercial use, provided you carry forward the original license and credit.
Voluntary participation
Nothing on this site obliges anyone to participate. Reading the constitution does not create a legal relationship. Joining a future node, council, or guild is opt-in by ratification, and exit is guaranteed by the charter.
The Freedom Stack does not assert authority over any person or community that has not chosen to adopt it.
Status of specs and roadmap
The constitution, governance annex, treasury annex, and other specifications under /specs are v0.1 drafts. They describe an intended design. They are not in force until ratified by the appropriate council under the governance process described in the spec itself.
Roadmap dates and product status published on the transparency page reflect best-current intent. They are not commitments. The transparency log preserves history when they shift.
No warranties
The site, the source code, and the specs are provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The project is pre-alpha. Do not rely on any feature described here for a use case where failure would cause harm to people or assets.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the maintainers and contributors are not liable for any damages arising from use of the site, the code, or the specs.
Right to fork, right to leave
If you disagree with a decision the project takes, you have an explicit, charter-protected right to fork the source, fork the specs, and run a parallel project. Doing so does not require permission. The same applies to leaving any node, council, or guild — exit is unconditional.
Changes to these terms
These terms will evolve as the project ships real product surfaces. Material changes are versioned, announced via the public repository, and reflected in the version stamp at the top of this page.
