Privacy
What this site collects, what it doesn't, and what you can do about it. Plain English. No dark patterns.
The short version
No accounts. No tracking. No third-party scripts. Server logs only, retained briefly for security. Your PWA cache stays on your device.
What we collect
The marketing site at governance-os.org does not require an account, set tracking cookies, or run third-party analytics. We do not collect names, emails, or behavioural profiles from visitors.
Our hosting provider records standard server access logs (request URL, timestamp, IP address, user agent) for operational and security purposes — protecting the site from abuse and diagnosing outages. These logs are retained for the minimum period needed to satisfy that purpose and are not joined to any other dataset.
Cookies and local storage
The site uses no tracking or advertising cookies. If you install Freedom Stack as a Progressive Web App, your browser caches HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and spec content locally so the site works offline. This cache lives on your device only and is never transmitted to us.
You can clear it at any time from your browser's site settings, or by uninstalling the PWA.
Third parties
Outbound links (for example to GitHub or other governance specs) take you to services with their own privacy policies. We do not embed analytics, ad scripts, social-media trackers, or session-replay tools.
The site is served by our hosting provider; their infrastructure-level processing of network requests is bound by their own terms.
Future product surfaces
The Freedom Stack will eventually include account-bearing apps — Identity, Governance, Treasury, Marketplace. Each of those has its own privacy commitments (described in the relevant spec) and will publish a separate, more detailed policy when it ships.
The principles guiding all of them are constitutional: data minimisation, no coercive enrolment, the right to export your data, and the right to delete it.
Your rights
You can browse the site without identifying yourself. You do not need to consent to anything to read the manifesto, charter, or specs. If you have concerns about how the site behaves on your device, the source is public — read it, audit it, or fork it.
Contact
For privacy questions, open an issue at the public repository: github.com/blueforge-studio/governance-os/issues. Once governance ships, privacy questions will route through the appointed steward council.
This policy is versioned. Changes will be announced through /transparency and the public repository.
